about
Feeling anger after an encounter in which the rights of trans and non-binary folks and women were belittled and disregarded, I went home and wrote this song. Satirically putting myself "in another man's shoes" I realized the motivation was fear. Fear is a powerful enemy - it put a bigot in the White House.
lyrics
"What's with these other guys?" you say,
Unwilling to change your mind.
"Are you a threat to me?" you think.
Am I a threat to you?
Cause I'm not like you,
So I don't like you.
I won't try to
Understand you.
Anything just to hold your ground.
You put a bigot in the White House.
"I'm so haunted by what's in your pants that I'm losing sleep!
And after all this is about me."
And I'm not like you,
So I don't like you.
I won't try to
Look inside you.
I'm afraid all the time!
I'm afraid all the time!
I'm afraid all the time!
Im afraid, I'm afraid all the time!
I'm not like you.
So I don't like you.
And you don't like me.
And I don't like me.
"But if you succeed,
then what happens to me?"
What happens to me?
